Our values

We believe language should never be a barrier.

Why we built this

PersonalTranslator started from a simple frustration: being in a Discord server where people you want to connect with speak a different language — and feeling locked out.

Existing solutions felt clunky. Bots that translated every message publicly, cluttering the chat with noise. Copy-pasting into browser tabs. Neither felt natural. Neither felt like it respected the conversation.

We wanted something that worked for you — private, instant, and invisible. A tool that removes the friction without changing how anyone else experiences the conversation.

What we stand for

Simplicity over features. A right-click and you have your translation. No setup, no configuration, no commands to memorise before you can get value. The best tools get out of your way.

Privacy by default. Your translations are yours. Nobody else sees them unless you choose to share. We do not store the content of messages you translate — only what we need to run your account.

Honest pricing. We charge for what costs us money — translation API calls. There are no subscriptions, no monthly fees, no dark patterns. You buy tokens when you need them, they never expire, and you are in control.

Transparency. The Changelog is public. When we ship something, we say what it is. When something breaks, we fix it and say what happened. We think you deserve to know what the product you use is doing.

Active development. This is not an abandoned side project. PersonalTranslator is actively maintained and improved. If something does not work the way it should, we want to know — use the Contact page.

Who we are

PositiveSquare is an independent developer building tools that make online communities more accessible and enjoyable.

PersonalTranslator is our first public Discord bot. We built it because we needed it, and we think others do too.

If you have thoughts, feedback, or ideas — we genuinely read every message sent through the contact form.
