Why we built this

PersonalTranslator started from a simple frustration: being in a Discord server where people you want to connect with speak a different language - and feeling locked out of the conversation.

Existing solutions felt wrong. Bots that translated every message publicly, cluttering the channel with noise nobody asked for. Copy-pasting into a browser tab and losing your place. Neither felt like it belonged in 2024.

We wanted something that felt invisible. Private. Built for the person reading, not the channel.

Honest pricing. We charge for what costs us money - API calls. There are no subscriptions, no monthly fees, no dark patterns. You buy tokens when you need them, and they never expire.

Built for real communities. Discord is where people actually talk. Communities, gaming, study groups, international friendships - all of it happens there. PersonalTranslator is built to live inside those conversations, not alongside them.

Who we are

Positive Square LTD is a small independent software company based in the UK, building tools that make online communities more accessible and enjoyable.

PersonalTranslator is our first public Discord bot. We use it ourselves, which means when something breaks we notice - and when something could be better, we care enough to improve it.
