Privacy Policy
Positive Square LTD is the data controller for PersonalTranslator. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who We Are
Positive Square LTD is a company registered in England and Wales. We operate the PersonalTranslator Discord bot and the website at personaltranslator.app.

2. What Data We Collect
When you use PersonalTranslator, we store the following information:

We do not store the content of any messages you translate.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to operate PersonalTranslator:
- Providing and personalising the translation service
- Managing your token balance and processing purchases
- Preventing abuse of the free token allowance
- Internal analytics to understand how the service is used
- Responding to support requests
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to any third party.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we process your data on the following bases:
- Contract performance — processing your language preferences and token balance is necessary to provide the service you requested
- Legitimate interests — retaining a minimal record after account deletion to prevent free token abuse, and using analytics data to improve the service
- Legal obligation — retaining purchase records as required by financial regulations
5. Data Sharing
We share data with the following third parties only to the extent necessary to provide the service:
Translation APIs Message text is sent to a third-party translation service provider to perform the translation. The content is not retained by the provider after the response is received.
Discord All purchases are processed entirely by Discord's payment system. We receive a confirmation of the purchase (pack name, token amount, and transaction reference) but no payment card or banking details.
We do not share your data with any other third parties.
6. Data Retention

7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data (subject to the retention conditions in Section 6)
- Restriction — ask us to pause processing of your data in certain circumstances
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
8. Cookies
The PersonalTranslator website uses only the cookies strictly necessary to maintain your login session via Discord OAuth. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS) for all data in transit and access controls on our database.
10. Children
PersonalTranslator is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Discord's own minimum age requirements also apply to all users.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last changed. Continued use of the service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
