Getting Started

PersonalTranslator is a user-installed Discord bot — you add it to your account once and it works in every server you are in, without needing server admin permissions.

Adding the bot

Click the Add to Discord button on this website or use the link shared by the bot.
You will be taken to Discord's authorisation page. Click Authorise.
The bot is now linked to your account. No server setup required.

Your first translation

Once the bot is installed, you can translate any message in any server:

Right-click (or long-press on mobile) any message.
Hover over Apps in the context menu.
Click Translate this message.

The translation will appear as a private reply — only you can see it.

Setting your language

For the best experience, tell the bot your native language:

/my-language

This sets the language that messages will be translated into by default, so you never need to specify it each time.
